Joss Garman is the ECF director responsible for overseeing the foundation’s strategy and grant-making in the United Kingdom. He is also a member of the foundation’s Strategic Council.
Based in London, he has been an activist on climate change for 15 years through positions in NGOs, think tanks, politics and now philanthropy. These roles have included political director of Greenpeace UK, Associate Director for the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR) & political adviser for the British Labour Party.
Joss is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (RSA) and sits on the advisory board of the UK Energy Research Centre (UKERC). He has frequently written for newspapers including The Times, The Guardian, The Independent, The Observer, The New Statesman, The Huffington Post and The Mirror.
He lives with his wife and two children and is happiest out on the hills and beaches of Wales.
