Power Transition

About me

Keith is the Director of the Power Transition Initiative, and is responsible for building the foundation’s strategy and directing grant-making to help reduce air pollution, health impacts and greenhouse gas emissions from the European power sector. Coal power plants are particularly significant contributors to both air pollution and CO2 emissions.

Prior to joining joined the ECF in 2013 to manage our UK initiative, Keith led the climate change team at WWF-UK where he worked on UK and EU climate and energy policy, aviation, international climate negotiations, and adaptation to climate change. He has also worked as a journalist covering science and environmental issues, notably at ENDS, the leading publisher of environmental analysis for business. Keith also worked for the UK’s Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution and contributed to its influential 2000 report on Energy and the Environment.

Keith holds a science degree from Cambridge University and a PhD in chemistry from Manchester University. He lives in London with his family, and enjoys climbing, walking and being close to nature.
