Patricia is the Chief Programme Officer of the IKEA Foundation, an independent philanthropy funded by the INGKA Foundation, owner of the Ingka Group of companies, the largest retailer in the IKEA franchise system . The IKEA Foundation focuses on improving the lives of children living in poverty by enabling their families to create sustainable livelihoods, and to fight and cope with climate change. In her role, Patricia oversees all programme (grantmaking) strategy and implementation. She previously worked at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, both on the development of technology solutions and the finance, policy and market-based interventions to ensure their uptake in the least developed countries. She has also held executive roles at NGOs, including PATH and Marie Stopes International. Prior to working in the development sector, Patricia worked in the private sector in technology and communications. She also serves on the Board of the Clean Air Fund. She holds a BA and MBA from Stanford University.
