Based in London, Luca Bergamaschi is Special Advisor on COP26 to the CEO Laurence Tubiana and Advisor on Italy. In this role, Luca supports the CEO’s engagement with the UK COP26 Presidency, the activities of the International Climate Politics Hub, and the strategy and management of the ECF’s activities in Italy.
Before joining the ECF, Luca was a Senior Advisor for the climate change think tank E3G, the Italian Institute of International Affairs and the International Climate Politics Hub. Between 2012 and 2016, Luca worked as Policy Advisor for E3G in Berlin and London. Afterwards, from 2016 and 2017, Luca worked for the Italian Prime Minister’s Office in Rome where he was responsible for the climate and energy negotiations of the 2017 Italian G7 Presidency.
Luca holds a Master in Energy Policy from Exeter University and two Bachelors, one in Economics and Politics from Cologne University and one in Industrial Engineering from Bologna University. Italian by nationality, Luca speaks Italian as well as German and English.
