Koen is a Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Senior Officer at the ECF, where he joined in August 2020. As part of the MEL team, Koen supports programmes in the development of M&E frameworks and identify progress towards ECF strategic objectives. This includes working closely with programme teams to identify key performance indicators, coordinating MEL capacity development sessions, and supporting analysis and visualisation of the ECF data to communicate insights and identify learning points.
Prior to joining the ECF, Koen worked within the sectors of international development and higher education since 2009. He supported the organisations in various strategic challenges (incl. knowledge mobilisation and research uptake) and in strengthening impact monitoring and evaluation systems and practices.
Koen obtained a Master in History from the University of Ghent and a Master in Development Evaluation and Management from the University of Antwerp. He is passionate about change processes, contributing to solutions for complex problems, and helping colleagues in strengthening the impact orientation of their work.
