As part of the Brussels-based finance program team, a particular focus of Dr. Anna Irmisch’s work is private climate finance and investor engagement.
Before joining the ECF as Senior Associate Climate Finance, Anna worked as an Engagement Manager for the Danish company Engagement International, where she ran environmental, social and governance (ESG) assessments of listed companies, and lead engagement dialogues with their managers worldwide on behalf of institutional investors. Anna is a member of the UN Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) Stewardship Advisory Committee.
Anna’s 10 years of experience include working for a charity on European sustainable finance policy. Prior to that, she has had roles in international development with a focus on innovation, as a strategy consultant in the software industry, and sociologist on sustainability ratings. The Fulbright alumna with degrees in sociology, media science, political science and intercultural business communication holds a PhD about sustainable investing. Last but not least, Anna loves horseback riding and picking mushrooms in the forest.
