Clean heating: How can Europe transition to fossil free buildings?

High-level webinar on Monday October 25, 14:00 – 15:00 CET

Decarbonising the heating sector is of key importance in reaching the EU’s climate goals. Yet, a new study by the Oeko-Institut shows that the transition away from fossil fuel boilers is going too slowly. What policies and concrete measures are needed to fully decarbonise the heating sector at the EU and national levels? How can the ‘Fit for 55’ climate package reduce energy demand and advance the transition to renewable heating and cooling technologies? What role can the heating industry play in this transition?

The high-level webinar will bring together top EU and national policymakers, industry and policy experts to explore the best ways to address the existing barriers to decarbonisation and to discuss policy solutions to accelerate the phase-out fossil fuel heating systems in Europe while ensuring a fair energy transition for all.

The event is moderated by Chris Davis, former MEP and coordinator of the European Parliament Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI).
