“A job with a mission”, that’s how Vanessa da Silva Estevan describes her position as Finance & Grants officer at the European Climate Foundation, in The Hague. She is from Sao Paulo, Brazil, and before moving to The Netherlands, she used to work as a Reporter and Producer for a local radio broadcast. Later on she also worked as a Communication Officer for a political party with strong pro-environment policy positions.
After moving to The Netherlands in 2009, she worked in several accounting departments for profit organizations but always dreamed of working in philanthropy.
“Everyone should do his share in order to reduce our carbon footprint on the planet and raising awareness is the key point to achieve that. I joined ECF because I wanted to be part of this amazing mission of developing a low-carbon society”.
Vanessa holds a Bachelor Degree in Journalism and Social Communications as well as a Financial Accounting diploma. She has a unique mixture of communication and finance skills. As a Finance & Grants Officer, her biggest challenge is to ensure consistency of approach and compliance with the internal processes, working in plattforms such as Cross-cutting, Build Political Will, Energy Efficiency, GSCC, GCoM and 2050 Pathways.
