Catherine Abreu

Catherine is the Director of the International Climate Politics Hub (ICPH), a global network of high-impact organisations and individuals accelerating climate action in the diplomatic arena. ICPH is part of the international programme at ECF.

Recognised for her diplomacy, communications, and coalition-building skills, she’s one of the world’s top 100 climate policy influencers according to Apolitical, and was honoured by Canada’s Walk of Fame as their 2023 National Hero.

Catherine has over 20 years of experience campaigning on environmental issues, including 15 years in the heart of the global climate movement.

She has previously served as the Founder & Executive Director of Destination Zero, the Executive Director of Climate Action Network Canada, and the climate and energy lead for the Ecology Action Centre.

Catherine lives with her partner and tiny dog in the unceded territory of the Anishinaabe Algonquin Nation, in what’s otherwise known as Ottawa, Canada.
