Safja Agius

Safja joined the ECF in February 2026 as a Senior Talent Acquisition Associate in the HR team, based in London.

With a background spanning recruitment and sustainability programmes, Safja brings over 15 years of experience in the public and international NGO sectors. She has coached senior leaders on recruitment challenges, led multi-country teams and contributed to diversity, equality and inclusion initiatives.

Before joining the ECF, Safja worked at the Rainforest Alliance, serving as Customer Success Lead for operations across Africa and Asia. She also worked for the International Youth Federation in volunteer workforce recruitment. Most recently, she worked at the ECF in the UK Programme, where she led the design and implementation of a recruitment shared services pilot for UK grantees.

Safja holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Change and Management from the University of Oxford. She is currently working towards professional HR accreditation with the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). In her free time, she enjoys the outdoors, visiting farmers’ markets, and taking countryside walks.
