Mauro Anastasio joined the ECF in July 2021 as a Senior Associate for the Strategic Communications team, working closely with the Land Use Programme on topics such as agriculture, food systems, forestry, due diligence, and bioenergy.
Mauro was born and raised on the island of Capri, in the South of Italy. After obtaining his MA in International Relations from the University of Leeds, he gained eight years of experience in different communications roles based in London and Brussels.
Before joining the ECF, Mauro spent five years as a communications officer at the European Environmental Bureau (EEB), Europe’s largest network of citizens’ environmental organisations, where he helped build international campaigns around the need for resources and energy efficiency, climate action and environmental fiscal reform.
Mauro is a Right to Repair enthusiast, loves going to concerts and is a keen tennis player. You can talk to him in English and Italian – if you’re patient enough, you can also test his French and Spanish language skills.
