Tyra Bernardshaw

Tyra Bernardshaw is a Junior Associate in the Climate Finance programme at the European Climate Foundation, based in Brussels.

Tyra moved to Brussels to work for the EEA and Norway Grants – the EEA EFTA States’ contribution to reducing social and economic disparities in Europe. With a great personal interest in climate action and a motivation to work in the field of climate finance, she brought her experience in grants management and joined the ECF in September 2023. Tyra has previously worked at the Norwegian Embassy in Riga, the U.S. Embassy in Oslo, and a research centre working on human security in post-conflict areas.

Tyra holds a BA and MSc in International Relations from the University of Exeter and the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, respectively. A native Norwegian speaker, she is fluent in English and the Scandinavian languages, and has a basic understanding of Spanish and French.

In her free time, Tyra enjoys travelling and exploring new cultures in the world, hiking in the mountains of her home country Norway, and enjoying the vibrant city life in Brussels.
