Katrin Elsemann

Katrin joined the ECF in December 2023 as manager of the Germany Programme. She focuses on guiding the programme’s overall strategy and supporting the team in effective grantmaking across all sectors, with a special focus on climate finance.

She has worked for many years in international development in Southern Africa and South America, before founding two social enterprises in Germany. She was then the Executive Director of the Social Entrepreneurship Network Germany for five years. Before joining the ECF, Katrin worked for the German government as an expert advisor to the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Action.

Katrin holds a Master’s degree in International Development and Economics from the University of Applied Sciences in Berlin, where she now lives with her family.
