Director for Global Initiatives, Climate Imperative Foundation

Stephanie Epner is Managing Director for Global Initiatives at Climate Imperative Foundation. In this role, she is responsible for overseeing the organization’s international program portfolio and strategy.

Prior to joining Climate Imperative, Stephanie served in a variety of senior roles in the U.S. government, including leading the development and coordination of international climate and energy policy at the White House National Security Council and advising the U.S. President, National Security Advisor, Secretary of State, and others on global climate and energy issues. Earlier in her career, Stephanie founded and directed the Climate in Foreign Policy Project at the United Nations Foundation and served as a fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. She also spent time as a senior speechwriter to the U.S. Secretary of State and the Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Stephanie has a Master of Public Policy degree from Princeton University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Vanderbilt University.
