Rebekka Hemmerling

Rebekka joined the ECF in November 2024 as a Junior Associate in the Climate Finance Programme, based in Brussels. In this role, she supports the team in advancing initiatives that align financial flows with the goals of the Paris Agreement.

Before joining the ECF, Rebekka worked at the European Parliament, where she assisted the Secretariat of the Development Committee. She also worked at the KfW Development Bank, supporting the implementation of German development projects in the Middle East.

Rebekka holds a master’s degree in international relations from the University of Groningen with a particular focus on applying an intersectional lens to global challenges such as climate justice.

In her free time, Rebekka channels her creativity into sewing and crocheting. She also enjoys exploring new places and staying active by trying new sports, from Pilates to kitesurfing.
