Sarah Impens

Sarah is the Director of the Grant Management team at the ECF. Her role is among others to ensure the grant management policies, process and procedures, from intake to contract management, are consistently followed up, improved and in line with the overall ECF policies and procedures. Prior to joining the ECF in 2018, Sarah worked for nearly 18 years at the European Foundation Centre, a platform for and champion of institutional philanthropy, of which the last 3 years as a member of the Leadership Team in her capacity as Director of Operations & Membership.

After graduating from high school, Sarah left her native Belgium and moved abroad to study Journalism and Social Science, as well as English, French and Russian at the University of Lausanne in Switzerland.

Sarah speaks fluent Dutch, English, and French. She has a good knowledge of German and a basic knowledge of Spanish, Italian and Russian. She is passionate about skiing and introducing her son to the world through travel. Very conscious about the impact of climate change, she feels privileged to contribute and be part of an ecosystem of those who believe that Europe needs to take action urgently at numerous levels to ensure a healthier, greener and a more sustainable environment for the future generations.
