Lina is the Asia Strategy Director of the International Energy Programme at the ECF, which she joined in July 2022. The programme is dedicated to securing a global clean power sector in line with climate change imperatives. She has 15 years of experience working on climate, energy and sustainability issues.
Prior to her current position, she worked as Senior Manager at Adelphi. In addition, she conducted research on climate diplomacy as a German Chancellor Fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. She also worked previously at Ecofys, Greenovation Hub, and a multi-national energy company.
Lina holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Duisburg-Essen, an M.A. in International Politics from Peking University, and a B.A. in Diplomacy from the Renmin University of China. She was selected as one of the 50 students to attend the 2041 Antarctic Expedition in 2009 and is also a member of the Global Diplomacy Lab and the BMW Foundation Responsible Leaders Network.
Growing up in Anhui province and passionate about travelling around the world, she has lived in Beijing, Seoul, Stuttgart, Doha, Cologne, Bonn, Berlin, and Hannover and speaks Chinese, English and German. She enjoys listening to podcasts, wandering around cities, and being close to nature.
