Donal Mac Fhearraigh

Donal is the Strategic Communications Manager in the Citizen Engagement and Cultural Change Central Hub, focused on Redirecting Anger and Climate Impacts work. He joined the European Climate Foundation in April 2022.

Donal has two decades of experience organizing and leading progressive social movements to advance the values of a more just society. Prior to the ECF, he worked for eight years as a Senior Program Officer at the Open Society Initiate for Europe, where he led a portfolio of funding called Holding EU Institutions to Account.

He has experience in partnership building in the philanthropic field including on the Global Board of the Engaged Donors for Global Equity 2016-2020. He served on the leadership council of political and campaigning organizations in Ireland, spanning the full range of organizational development and leadership, from volunteering to being a Parliamentary Advisor, to strategy development and communications.

Donal holds a BSc in Mathematical Physics and Computer Science from University College Dublin.
