Strategic Communications Manager, Transport

About me

Claire Meyer is a Strategic Communications Manager working across the Transport, Industrial Policy & Trade programmes and within the Citizen Engagement and Culture Change team. She leads strategic communications and narrative campaigns on topics including energy security, industrial competitiveness, economic resilience, electrification, and the transition to sustainable mobility.

In 2024, Claire coordinated the strategic communications for ECF’s European elections campaign, helping to align the efforts of ECF partners across Europe and maximise visibility at both EU and national levels.

With more than 15 years of experience in strategic communications, campaign management, public affairs, and stakeholder engagement, Claire has worked across the public, private, and non-profit sectors. Prior to joining ECF, she held communications and public affairs roles at IRU, Renault, Nissan, the European Association of Development Finance Institutions, the European Parliament, and Ernst & Young. She also worked at the French Embassy in Washington, D.C., as a Trade and Public Policy Attaché.

Claire’s commitment to sustainability began early in her career while working for a Green Member of the European Parliament, where she gained first-hand insight into how public policy can shape a more sustainable future. Since then, she has pursued this objective throughout her professional journey, from contributing to the organisation of COP21 and supporting the deployment of the largest fully electric vehicle fleet for an international event, to collaborating with governments across Europe on electromobility policies and supporting development finance institutions in financing renewable energy projects worldwide.

Claire holds an MBA and a Master’s degree from Sciences Po Strasbourg and has also studied at the University of Sussex (UK). She is fluent in English, French, and Spanish.
