About me

Melina works as an Associate for the ECF’s Energy Systems initiative. Her role focuses on enabling a rapid transition towards a zero-carbon energy system that is efficient, smart, flexible and dominated by clean renewables. She works with an array of stakeholders to facilitate the deployment of renewable energy at scale, which is essential to meet Europe’s commitments under the Paris Agreement and EU renewable energy targets for 2030.

Over the last years Melina worked for the Alliance for Rural Electrification in Brussels to promote decentralised renewable energy and improve energy access globally. Prior to that, she worked at Think Smartgrids in Paris, a trade association that advocates for smart grids. In her past life, Melina was also a journalist for La Revue de l’Energie, a landmark magazine for the energy debate in France.

Melina holds an M.A in History from la Sorbonne in Paris and an M.A in International Studies from SOAS in London. She is Italian and French, from Rome and Paris. She speaks English and has a good understanding of Spanish.
