Amy Mount

Amy is an environmental campaigner and strategist. As the Manager for the UK Programme at the ECF, she supports the UK climate community to deepen political consensus on decarbonisation and to secure policies to achieve net zero emissions.

She is a member of the decision panel for the National Lottery’s Climate Action Fund, which catalyses climate action in place-based communities across the UK. She was appointed to the Strategic Advisory Network of the Economic and Social Research Council, part of the non-departmental public body of UK Research and Innovation. She was also elected to the board of the London Wildlife Trust, having spent many happy hours as a conservation volunteer at Sydenham Hill Wood.

As a civil servant at Defra, she led supportive and high-performing teams through complexity and uncertainty, notably managing the department’s policy development under the Northern Ireland Protocol. She previously ran the Greener UK coalition of environmental NGOs, influencing Brexit negotiations and flagship parliamentary bills. She is a firm believer in public engagement and diversity, and her career so far has also included communications consultancy, research, education and mentoring.

She holds a BA in Geography from Cambridge University and as a Mellon Fellow at Yale University earned masters degrees in Global Affairs and Environmental Management.
