Philipp Niessen

Philipp leads the ECF Innovation & Industry initiative. His focus is to reduce the carbon footprint of Europe’s heavy industry, while enhancing Europe’s leadership in clean technologies. Philipp joined the ECF after 7 years as a manager at Germany’s main industry lobby group, the Federation of German Industries (BDI). At BDI, Philipp oversaw a wide portfolio of industry, energy and climate policy-related activities. He is a trained economist and passionate about his bike and outdoor activities.
