Fabio Stevanato

Director, Italy Programme

About me

Fabio Stevanato joined the European Climate Foundation in October 2021 and currently serves as the Director for Italy. In this role, Fabio focuses on implementing the ECF strategy in Italy and building momentum for climate action in the country. He is thrilled to be part of the ECF and directly contributing to implementing ambitious climate change and sustainable policies across Europe.

Prior to joining the ECF, Fabio started his career as a legal researcher for an international legal NGO supporting the alliance of small island states to build their legal strategy and position within the COP negotiations. He then moved to Brussels, where he worked for both public and private organizations implementing energy, transport and environmental projects across Europe. He recently moved to London to launch his own business venture while completing an MBA programme at Imperial College. In these roles, he gained a thorough understanding of European and international energy and environmental policies and how to implement those policies at national and local levels through innovative projects.

Fabio holds a law degree from the University of Ferrara in Italy, an LLM in International Environmental Law from the University of London and an MBA from Imperial College. He is passionate about travelling and languages: he speaks Italian fluently (mother tongue), English, Spanish, French and he is currently on a mission to improve his German. He currently lives in Italy, where he enjoys playing sports and the beauty of the Italian landscapes.
