About me

Anna Wery is Senior Associate for the Land Use Programme. She started working for ECF in July 2023 and is based in ECF’s Brussels office. Her role mainly focuses on the transition towards sustainable agriculture and food system in Europe and key member states.

Prior to joining the ECF, Anna was working on several topics including fair rural transition for the philanthropic organisation Porticus.

Anna obtained a Master’s in Biological Psychology and Intercultural Communication at the Free University of Brussels (VUB) and Utrecht University. Building on her interest, background and professional experience, Anna strongly believes in systemic approaches and the need for a fair transition of our agri-food sector.

Anna grew up in Belgium and has lived in various countries in Europe and beyond. She speaks French, English, Dutch and Italian; and has a good understanding of Portuguese and Spanish. In her free time, Anna likes to hike, climb, go to cultural events, and spend time in nature and with her beloved ones.
