About me

Jakub joined the ECF in January 2022 as Senior Associate in the Buildings, District Heating and Transport programmes for Poland. He has over 20 years’ first-hand experience in the construction industry, as well as several years’ involvement in shaping climate and economic policies in Poland and at the EU level with a particular emphasis on the built environment. He has worked as senior advisor to the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, senior advisor in the Polish National Center for Climate Change (a governmental think tank established by the Minister of Climate and Environment), as well as an expert and board member of several large construction industry associations and companies.

Jakub is an engineer, with degrees from Lodz Technical University Poland in production management, Aalborg University Denmark in environmental engineering, and University of Bologna Italy in Sustainable Transition Management. He has also completed courses in Climate Change and Energy from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and in Adaptive Leadership from the Center for Leadership.

A father of two, Jakub is a fan of radical decarbonisation of the built environment, swing dancing, and Arabic calligraphy, and has extensive knowledge of apple farming. He is also a former player of traditional music from northern Ghana. In addition to Polish, he speaks English, Russian, and Ukrainian, as well as some Spanish and German.
