About me

Míriam is the Spain Programme Director of ECF.

Based in Madrid, she is responsible for building the foundation’s strategy and directing grant-making in Spain. Her role is also to ensure close coordination between the work in Spain and the other countries’ programme at the EU level.

Prior to joining the ECF in May 2020, Míriam worked for many years in the cooperation aid sector, developing projects in several countries like Cuba, Colombia and Morocco. As a consultant, she has been an evaluator for several EU funding programmes. For the past five years she has focused her career, almost exclusively, on climate change policies.

Míriam is a biologist with a Master in Public Policy Evaluation. She believes that addressing environmental and social issues in the current climate emergency requires interdisciplinary knowledge and dialogue among various stakeholders, which has shaped her professional career and motivated her to join ECF. She speaks Spanish, English and Italian, and loves reading, nature, travelling, and spending time with her beloved ones.
