14.07.2022

The European Climate Foundation (ECF) welcomes Ms. Kate Hampton, CEO of the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation, as the new Chair of the Supervisory Board. She is replacing Mr. Stephen Brenninkmeijer, who stepped down from his position as Chair and Supervisory Board member in June 2022.

Stephen Brenninkmeijer joined the ECF’s Board in 2015 and was first elected Chair in 2018. With his departure, the Board members elected Kate Hampton as the new Chair of the ECF Board, after serving as a Vice-Chair of the Board.

With experience and dedication, Kate Hampson is well-placed to help steer and support the ECF during this next vital stage for our mission. We wish her the warmest welcome to her new role and we are thankful to Stephen for his service during a period of rapid growth for the Foundation and a critical time for climate action.

I am thrilled to have been elected as ECF's Board Chair. In this vital decade for climate action, the Foundation's work is more important than ever. I look forward to working with CEO Laurence Tubiana and ECF's Board, funders, staff and a strong and ever-growing ecosystem of grantees to collectively drive progress on climate change.
