Mustafa Berke is the director of the ECF’s Türkiye Programme, working to support the country’s transition to a net-zero carbon economy, with a focus on the energy and industry sectors.
He joined ECF in 2018. Prior to this, Mustafa held senior expert and project coordinator roles at Sabancı University İstanbul Policy Center, REC Turkey, and GÜNDER (Turkey Solar Energy Society), contributing to climate and energy policy work. Between 2006 and 2016, he worked at WWF-Türkiye, first as a programme officer in sustainable water management and later leading the climate and energy work.
Mustafa holds a major in International Relations and a minor in International Economics from Middle East Technical University. He also earned an MA in European Politics from Lund University and an MSc in Energy Policy from the University of Sussex. He lives in Ankara and enjoys sports – first and foremost performing, but also watching.
