Marie-Laure Hicks joined in ECF in 2026 as Strategic Foresight Manager, based in Paris. In this role, Marie-Laure is responsible for strategic foresight processes and support, working across the ECF and partners. This includes helping identify critical issues, scanning the horizon for major trends and weak signals, development of scenarios and strategy stress-tests.
Prior to joining the ECF, Marie-Laure was Head of Policy at the Aldersgate Group, a cross-sector alliance making the progressive business case for ambitious climate and environmental policy. She was also a Senior Analyst at RAND Europe and Senior Policy Advisor at the Royal Academy of Engineering, where she worked on foresight, energy and technology innovation, energy security scenarios, risk and resilience planning. Marie-Laure is an engineer by training, with a PhD from University College London on diamond electronics for the smart grid.
