About me

Matthew is an Associate in the ECF Trade Programme.

Matthew has worked on the topic of trade and sustainability for more than six years. Following his bachelor’s in political science at McGill University, he moved to Brussels to intern at Transport & Environment for campaigns on trade in environmental goods and investment protection reform.

Prior to joining the ECF, Matthew managed studies on an EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), trade implementation and impact assessments, and has consulted on several projects funded by the European Commission on trade and customs. He holds a master’s degree in international trade law from Lund University.

Matthew is an avid cyclist, amateur barista, and (seasonal) sailor.
