About me

Míriam is the Spain Programme Director of ECF.

Based in Madrid, she is responsible for building the foundation’s strategy and directing grant-making in Spain. Her role is also to ensure close coordination between the work in Spain and the other countries’ programme at the EU level.

Prior to joining the ECF in May 2020, Míriam has worked for many years in the Cooperation aid sector, developing projects in several countries like Cuba, Colombia and Morocco. As a consultant, she has been an evaluator for several EU funding programmes. For the past 5 years has focused her carrier, almost exclusively, on climate change policies.

Míriam is a biologist with a Ms. in Public Policy Evaluation and has developed her professional career under the belief that environmental and social problems are complex and require of interdisciplinary knowledge and dialogue among the different actors involved to be confronted, overall, in the current climate emergency context, which is the reason to join ECF. She speaks Spanish, English and Italian, loves reading, nature, travelling, and spending time with her beloved ones.
